The Moxy Hotel Tops Out in Cherry Creek North

Denver, Colo. – April 20, 2017 – Today, GE Johnson Construction Company and its project partners celebrated the topping out of the the Moxy Hotel in Denver’s Cherry Creek North neighborhood, as workers installed the final piece of structural steel onsite. GE Johnson broke ground on site in April of last year, and completion of the boutique hotel is scheduled for October 2017. The Moxy Hotel has reached its topping out milestone with no OSHA recordable injuries to those onsite, an achievement nearly unheard of on a project of this scale.

Spread across 10 levels (two below ground) and 93,000 square feet, the Moxy Hotel is a high-end destination for travelers in the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The first floor will feature an indoor/outdoor bar in the courtyard, which contains a beautiful and elegant beer garden style canopy with fire places and grilles. The second floor of the Moxy Hotel will offer meeting rooms and a fitness room, catering to the various needs of travelers of all sorts.

“GE Johnson, the design build team and subcontractor partners have put a lot of hours in this project,” said Anthony Fasciano, Project Manager for GE Johnson. “We look forward to delivering a quality product to the client and all those who stay here during their time in Denver.”

Dating back several hundred years to Scandinavia, the topping out ceremony marks the placement of the final piece of structural steel and is intended to celebrate the good fortune of the project. The event also allows all those involved to look forward to the completion of the building.
