The Big Picture
The Well is part of Cleveland County’s five-year master plan and will be a hub for activities and services, including online and in-person fitness classes, cooking demonstrations, a Norman Regional Health System clinic, and the Norman Farmer’s Market.
The project includes a greenspace for outdoor events and a two-story community building with 14,000 square feet of classroom and meeting space. The Well is an all-in-one destination where people can shop, learn, play, and exercise to improve their health.
Ingenuity in Action
The project team was able to identify cost savings throughout the project to cover multiple changes without submitting a single owner change order. The major changes included adding 315 linear feet of storm drain main to the east side of the project, building out future tenant space for Norman Regional Hospital Clinic, and adding tongue and groove wood ceiling to the famers market building.
The little details
- Norman plan review required two sections of façade be removable to allow for maintenance of an existing sanitary sewer main in the hub which runs between the two buildings.
- Ten sections of roof are constructed with sloped structurally insulated panels (SIPS) on a 4.5” / 12” pitch.
